Our Hurricane Experience so far

When my husband and I walked out of our bedroom closet for the first time after it was all over, I was sure that it had been the most devistating 36+ hours of our lives.
It was a 3 day nightmare, with only 6 hours of calm to try to come to grips with what was happening before it all started up again. Those six hours might have been calm, but they definately weren't relaxing. They were full of awe, sadness, shock, disbelief, terror, and fear for the future. For we were in a place everyone fears, whether they've been there themselves or not.

We were standing in our back yard, or what was left of it, IN THE EYE OF A VICIOUS CATEGORY 3/ BORDERING ON 4 HURRICANE - Not sure exactly when the back side, the worst side, would begin, but filled with fear of the fury we were destined to go through for the next 15 hours in our closet. Hurricane force winds for 15 hours, 6 hours of calm and the realization that life as we knew it was over.

Saint Lucie Medical Center Nightmare
Written by Kip Iles

If you ever find yourself poisoned by the local fauna then you DO NOT want to visit the St. Lucie Medical Center emergency room. Their lack of information and their bedside manner are both atrocious.
Last week I awoke to my wife sobbing in the next room. When I asked what was wrong she stated that she must have gotten something in her eye since it was burning intensely and had been for over an hour. After a quick rundown of the possible causes and after trying to contact our personal physician I decided that a trip to the corner paramedics was in order.

North Fort Myers Photos

We spend a lot of time over at my folks in North Fort Myers, Florida. We have created a gallery of images from the "farm" as we like to call it so take a gander when you can.

This property was up for sale but there were no takers so the property has been added to the Iles Family Trust and Penny and I have started our move to the lakefront home. 10951 Ruden Road, North Fort Myers will soon be our new permanent address. Goodbye Port Saint Lucie! You have been home for 15 years but you've gotten too big for your britches. "Green Acres is the place for me ...."

Penny's Preserve Photos

Penny has started to put some of her Tigers for Tomorrow photos in her photo gallery, here. Every time she went out to volunteer some of her time she took her camera with her and took as many shots as possible. We put many of these up on the Tigers for Tomorrow website but some of the excess will end up here. Keep checking back.
